Kangding Love Song
The Gold Coast is about 110 meters long and 80 meters wide, with a total area of approximately 8800 square meters. The dazzling fine sand seems to have set a golden border on the blue Mugecuo. There are many seas around Mugecuo, but on the side of the Gold Coast, it is covered with golden sand, forming a spectacle of water rising and sand falling, like the tides of the sea. Legend has it that this golden beach was originally located thousands of meters away by the sea, and was transported here by the gods.
The preliminary conclusion drawn from the investigation conducted by Professor Wan Xinnan from Chengdu University of Technology and the filming team of "Geographic China" is that there used to be a large river with abundant water around Mugecuo. The river was long and had sufficient water volume. The boulders on both sides of the mountain were transported and broken into stones and gravel, forming a "turbidity current" under the strong hydrodynamic force. The gravel was carried downstream in the form of "suspended matter" by the water flow. The appearance of Mugecuo changed the hydrodynamic conditions and movement trajectory of the water, and the flow velocity of the river slowed down, while the shore gradually became flat. Therefore, under the sorting effect of water, the lake shore gradually formed a beach. In the later stage, the humus layer around Mugecuo changed the distribution range and burial method of the beach, with most of it deeply buried and some mixed with flowing stones. In a few areas with favorable terrain and appropriate water flow, the beach was preserved. One sand, one world, every grain of sand is valuable scientific evidence for studying the geology of Kangding, witnessing various geological evolution processes in this area over tens of thousands of years.
